Grant Funding Guidelines

To request funding from the Downtown San Diego Lions Club, your organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the City of San Diego or the residents of San Diego County. We primarily support at-risk youth, military, seniors, and people with a disability.  Grant requests may be for capital improvements of a one-time nature, equipment, or program specific support. We do not provide resources to support fundraising of non-profit organizations. Individual grant requests are funded on a limited basis. Typical requests may be for specialized equipment or medicallu centered specialty services. We do not provide aid to individuals or organizations outside the United States except through recognized international charitable agencies.

If your group qualifies, please complete the Non-Profit Grant Application (links in blue below) and submit your entire grant application as one pdf document. Please carefully follow all instructions. If you need multiple items, please provide an itemized list with each item’s cost. This will allow the Lions Club to select an item or items that best fit into our budgetary process. Grants typically take 8 to 12 weeks to fund. We require site visits with all new applicants. The average grant request is $1,000 – $2,500. We have limited grant resources. Larger grants may be approved on a limited basis. Incomplete Grant Applications will be denied.
