Speaker: Colin Parent, Circulate San Diego

Colin Parent will present on Vision Zero, a concept of ending traffic fatalities and serious injuries. Beginning in 2015, Circulate San Diego launched a campaign to implement Vision Zero in the San Diego region. They published a major report with then-Mayor Faulconer, and secured a commitment from the City Council to eliminate traffic deaths. Solutions include traffic calming, safety improvements at dangerous intersections, and following the data to prioritize infrastructure improvements where crashes and deaths occur. 

Circulate San Diego is the region’s leading voice for housing, affordability, and mobility. They are also among the most respected and influential advocacy organizations in San Diego.

• Responsible for leading regional transportation and land use think tank and consulting firm
• Policy research, publications, and direct advocacy, at local and state levels
• Manage seven staff members and a $1 million budget
• Perform in-house legal services and manage the work of outside counsel
• Grant prospecting and writing, board relations, managing individual and corporate fundraising program
